[ About this case ]

This project was a practical test done in partnership with B8one, as part of a selection process. The proposal was approved, but the final development was carried out by another professional chosen through that process.

The challenge

The Kickz project was developed in partnership with B8one, a company specialized in digital solutions for retailers. The goal was to build a complete footwear e-commerce, with an experience optimized both for shoppers and for the people running the store. The brand needed to feel young and edgy, without losing clarity or directness at checkout.

The process

  1. Product goals: build a robust e-commerce platform for selling footwear across multiple brands, with an intuitive experience for shoppers and a full backoffice for store owners to manage products, promotions, and banners on their own.
  2. Visual hierarchy challenges: design an appealing digital showcase that organizes categories, banners, highlights, and promotions without losing clarity, balancing the brand's young tone with smooth navigation.
  3. Interface design: responsive layout for desktop and mobile, a functional header and footer with simplified navigation, visual highlights for promotions and launches, and easy access to cart and favorites.
  4. User experience: simplified purchase flows, optimized filters and categories for product search, validated with interactive prototypes tested for clarity and engagement.
  5. Integrated backoffice: an admin area for managing inventory, products, and promotions, giving store owners the autonomy to update banners and highlights in real time without relying on development.

What I learned

This project reinforced how important it is to think of e-commerce as a two-sided system: the shopper's experience and the day-to-day autonomy of whoever runs the store. Balancing brand identity with performance and usability means constantly deciding what's essential to show and what can turn into visual noise.
